"If I had been told by hotels.com about the charges and difficulty with parking around The Royal Hotel Scarborough, I would not have booked at that Hotel. As it happens we sorted an alternative parking place but it would not have suited visitors who have difficulty walking. The Hotel and Staff were excellent. "

"Fabulous hotel. The staff make you feel so welcome and are a real credit to the hotel. The atmosphere is really relaxed, you feel like you want to hang out there. Bar food was fabulous and the location was perfect. Would definitely stay again."

"Had a lovely stay at this hotel. What a beautiful setting, the grounds were impressive and the location means it’s easy to hop onto a bus into York. The on site pub was convenient after a relaxing visit to the spa. My room was in a quiet location with lovely views. The only negative was the room was a bit chilly on waking. Breakfast was excellent with plenty of choice. Very friendly and helpful staff. I would stay here again."

"Everyone was very pleasant and helpful. Room was as expected with good heat, a/c and shower water pressure. Convenient location to get to York tourist attractions and bar overlooking the river is pleasant. Interior is dated and hallway carpets smelled a bit. Overall a reasonable place to stay at a reasonable cost"

"It's a budget hotel and that's what you get. They've made the best use of space in the rooms but yluts obviously smaller with less amenities than your standard hotels. As a base to get ready and go out it's great"

"The location was amazing, just a few minutes walk from all the places we wanted to be. The staff were lovely, especially the lady who greeted us when we arrived six hours later than planned due to a change in our travel plans. The hotel was clean, the hot water was almost instant and the room had very well replenished refreshments, including bottles of water. The breakfast was lovely and i was extremely pleased to see a separate area for dietary requirements. All in all, brilliant value. "

"Comfortable average hotel which in places is beginning to show its age. Beds are comfortable, room good size, bathroom small and somewhat cramped though functions ok. A shame our room was not serviced on the third morning as requested. Many bus services run by hotel for 15 minute journey into centre. Excellent pub across the road for meals. Enjoyable stay."

"I had a very good night sleep at this hotel. It is in a quite street, far from any noise. It is not conveniente for someone who is not driving. The bed was very cosy, the room has a good size. There is coffee and tea in the room. This is a place to sit outside and relax. "
